Simba was ten years old, brother to my Mufasa, son of Lulu. He died from a severe reaction to Rimydll which is an antiflammatory/pain medication given to him when he wrenched his neck playing. My research indicates that this is happening all too frequently -- in fact, when his owners called the manufacturer, they immediately offered to pay their vet bills -- hmmm. A friend's Labrador retriever died exactly the same way and there are more cases -- just do a search on google and you'll find this a lot. SIGH. His owners, my friends in Chicago recently took Dino, my new champion puppy boy to help heal their heartbreak. |
